Sant’Anna School will host a Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence (CoE). For the next three years, the AgLAW research group will lead the SUSTAIN Centre of Excellence on EU Actions for Sustainable Farming and Food Systems, coordinated by Mariagrazia Alabrese, Associate Professor of Agri-food law at the Sant'Anna School.

The SUSTAIN CoE will be officially launched with a kick-off webinar titled “Navigating the Future of EU Sustainable Food Systems in the Digital Age”, which will take place on January 19th, 9:30, on Webex. Several topics related to the project will be presented: from a chronicle on the latest developments of the COP28 in Dubai, to the digital transition of EU agri-food systems, and many others. Besides, the next SUSTAIN events, training courses, and seminars will be presented.

SUSTAIN aims to foster a high standard of research, knowledge and social awareness on EU agri-food systems and the role of EU in promoting its sustainability and climate-resilience from an interdisciplinary perspective, all within the general framework of the new “green and digital” Common Agricultural Policy and the Green Deal package of strategies.
